William Hope
William Hope is a Technical Services Provider at the East Rio Arriba SWCD but started as a Working Lands Conservation Corps Member in October of 2024. He works collecting soil samples for landowners, coordinating with them and state agencies, conducting riparian and watershed projects and overall facilitating operations at the District's office. He is from Chicago and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Geography. In his spare time, he likes to swim laps or play water polo, read, watch movies and occasionally play video games. He also loves hiking, camping and travelling.
Unica Velasquez
I am Unica Velasquez. I was born and raised in La Mesa de Poleo, NM. I graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in Range Science. Throughout my studies I explored many topics such as plant physiology, soil science, grazing systems, and ecological restoration. I am very passionate and dedicated to protecting natural resources and hope to contribute to the future of sustainable land. Some of my favorite hobbies are fishing, hunting, and working cattle with my family.
