The East Rio Arriba SWCD, with Taos, Upper Chama, and Santa Fe–Pojoaque SWCDs, created an educational website focused on noxious weeds and invasive species. It offers regional ID guides, management practices, prevention resources, and materials for landowners, managers, educators, and the public to boost awareness, improve management, and encourage coordinated stewardship.
Northern New Mexico Cooperative weed management area
The Northern New Mexico Cooperative Weed Management Area (NNMCWMA) is comprised of both The East Rio Arriba SWCD and The Upper Chama SWCD working toward a shared goal.
That goal is managing the spread of noxious/invasive weeds through facilitating awareness, cooperation, and prevention. The NNMCWMA identifies ways to prevent the spread of noxious weeds and cooperates with landowners to coordinate weed management projects to help control existing noxious/invasive weed infestations.
This is a Cost Share Program. The landowners who participate will be asked to pay a percentage of their treatment project. *Further details will be provided at a later date.
If you are interested in participating in our program, contact either East Rio Arriba SWCD or Upper Chama SWCD to set up a meeting with your local Weed Coordinator.
